Trick or Treat?

Why do some parents despise teenagers trick or treating? It's fun and it causes no harm, right? I think the reason might be the desire the parents have of having raised a mature child. A parent feels more successful if their child is more mature. It's important to act like an adult when you reach a certain age. Another reasons parents are so strongly against teenage trick or treating is what they take away from other's experiences. Teenagers go from house to house caring only about the free candy, and not the kids they push out of the way. In my opinion, if a teenager wants to trick or treat, let them trick or treat. Just be safe, respectful, and mature about it.

Bring Back Books

Books are wonderful, so why are children reading less and less of them each year? Distractions are unavoidable in this world. Television, video games, and computers are taking over in the children's entertainment department. The media seems so much more important than books to these kids. Imagination seems to be a thing fast-fading. Watching TV and playing video and computer games requires no imagining. There should by commercials for books, and parent encouragement to read. Books can be just as fun, if not more fun, than the TV Each child should have the opportunity to enjoy a good book.

Yum!

Why do people love to eat so much? Three square meals should be all you need, right? Sweets and extra servings seem to be on everyone's mind. Maybe it's because food is just so good. Our eyes, and tastebuds, might just be a little bigger than our stomachs. Many people also eat food for comfort. It feels good to eat, even if its not the healthiest thing to do. I love food as much as the next person, but we shouldn't put it on the top of our priority unless its actually meal time.

A Pet for Every Person

I think every person should have a pet once in their lives. I have a cat and a dog who are both fun to play with. Everyone should have this kind of a friendship. It's important to have someone to have fun with when no one else is around. My pets provide comfort for me. My cat loves to be around me and I love to be around her. Each person should be profiled with the companionship of a pet. They are loving and have an infinite capacity to love. Pets should be in every household. They are wonderful to have around.

Primping

Why do girls take so long to get ready? Most of my friends don't take too long getting ready, but I know some girls who take hours to primp in the morning. I don't think girls need as much time to get ready as some. Maybe some girls take so long to get ready because of insecurities. Maybe they don't feel pretty unless they take all that time to get ready. Another reason girls might take a long time to get ready is that they care a lot, if not too much, about what people think. If a girl wants to take a long periods of time getting ready it's fine by me. I just think that it shouldn't be as important to look good as some believe.

Homecoming Blues

Girls cry, mope, and feel sorry for themselves if they don't get asked to homecoming. Why are homecoming, and all other dances so important? If a person doesn't get asked out, it's not the end of the world! Maybe it's the fear that everyone will be talking about it, and you don't want to feel left out. Maybe it's a feeling of inadequacy from not being asked. A few weeks after the dance you'll back at school and nobody will be talking about homecoming any more. You shouldn't feel bad if you don't get asked to the dance, just wait for the next one. Guess what? If you don't go to homecoming... Life hasn't ended! Have a party with everyone else that didn't get asked. Have FUN! (I'm going to!)

Hiya, this... is a blog =)

Time Flies

It's fourth period and you're bored to tears! You look up at the clock and it seems as if it has been broken. Why does time seem to stand still when you aren't having any fun?
When you are enjoying the company of a friend, or you're at an awesome dance, or taking a five minute break, time flies. When you're having fun, minutes turn to second. In just moments, hours have gone by and the time for fun has past. Maybe the reason time seems to be soaring at a rediculous speed is the fact that we are entertained. Maybe it's because we are distracted. When we are bored our minds seem to be set in a state of slow motion. Maybe time seems to stop because we have nothing to do but ponder our thoughts. Maybe... time really does stand still. Whether or not any of these proposals are correct, the clock truly does seem to stand still.
